Back by popular demand -- Pittsburgh Opera’s New Year’s Eve Gala returns to Carnegie Music Hall in Oakland to ring in 2017. This glittery event – the only one of its kind -- takes place Saturday, December 31, 2016 beginning at 7:30PM.
The celebration will feature:
- A cocktail reception in the Scaife Foyer
- Dinner in the elegant Music Hall Foyer
- A concert by Pittsburgh Opera's Resident Artists of music and song drawn from American musical theater traditions
- A party with desserts and dancing to the music of Protégé
- The traditional champagne toast at midnight!
The evening’s musical entertainment is an ingenious blend of grand opera, operetta, and musical theater, with an overarching narrative, recalling the Christmas Television Specials of the 1950’s. Featuring the Resident Artists and members of the Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra, and conducted by Glenn Lewis, the program includes selections by Gilbert and Sullivan, other works from the American Songbook, as well as favorites by Johan Strauss and more.
Pricing is listed below. You can order tickets online. For more information, please contact Pittsburgh Opera Manager of Special Events Rebecca Fink via email, or call her at 412-281-0912 ext. 225.
We look forward to ringing in 2017 with you. In the meantime, enjoy this video from last year.
