The Barber of Seville
The fun “prequel” story to The Marriage of Figaro
Music by Gioachino Rossini • Libretto by Cesare Sterbini
Bring your students to a complete mainstage performance of Rossini’s humorous opera with full orchestra, top-quality singers, chorus, and production elements. Sung in Italian with English texts projected above the stage.
The story: Begin with a fellow who’s smitten by a pretty girl, add a busy barber (Figaro) to a funny production, and the result is a popular favorite. There’s recognizable music and comedic staging. Figaro says, “Don’t miss this opera—it’s a perfect opera for young people!”
