Celebrate the upcoming world premiere of The Summer King - The Josh Gibson Story, with Pittsburgh Opera, the Josh Gibson Foundation, and Carnegie Museum of Art's Teenie Harris Archive.
This fabulous evening will feature:
- Cast members from The Summer King singing selections from the opera
- Sean Gibson, Executive Director of the Josh Gibson Foundation, sharing stories of his great-grandfather Josh's career in Negro League Baseball
- Pittsburgh Opera General Director Christopher Hahn discussing the development of The Summer King and its April 29th Pittsburgh Opera world premiere
- The Teenie Harris Archive highlighting Harris's work during Gibson's lifetime.
