The next FRIENDS of Pittsburgh Opera Speaker Series is on April 11th at 3PM. The series has been adjusted to a virtual format, but is still the FRIENDS of Pittsburgh Opera event that you know and love.
Join us for a special treat, a conversation featuring Tomé Cousin, the Stage Director of Charlie Parker’s Yardbird. Tomé is an “interdisciplinary artist who has had an award-winning international career with collaborates in dance, theater, music, film, photography, television and literature.” We are lucky to have him in Pittsburgh where he is at Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama as an Associate Professor of Dance. For nine seasons Tomé appeared as "Ragdoll Tomé" on PBS' award winning children's program Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. Other television appearances include: Sesame Strasse (Germany), Flitterabend (Germany), The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (NBC), The Rosie O'Donnell Show (ABC), The Today Show (NBC), The 2000 Tony Awards (CBS), The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (NBC) and Contact Live from Lincoln Center (PBS - 2003 Emmy Award Best Live Entertainment)
