Our film pairing for Turandot is The Turandot Project.
In May of 1997, conductor Zubin Mehta and director Zhang Yimou collaborate on a production of Turnadot in Florence. One year later, they bring the piece to Beijing, China. This documentary focuses on the elaborate piece, staged in its actual surroundings in the Forbidden City for nine historic performances. The many challenges and amazing artistic achievements are central in this film.
